AT ST MATTS EVERYONE HAS A PART TO PLAY IN THE LIFE OF OUR CHURCH
Pastor
Our church is led by Andy Bootes, who grew up on the Central Coast and took on the pastor role at St Matts in 2022. Andy is married to Miriam and has four kids who ensure there is never a dull moment at home.
He loves knowing Jesus personally and is convinced that everyone needs to know the sweet forgiveness, joy, peace and hope that only Jesus offers.
Loves to go surfing, drink good coffee, food and enjoys hanging with family.
Assistant Pastor
Jethro Dickens is an assistant pastor at St Matts, who joined our church in 2026. He is married to Alice and they have three young children who keep them on their toes.
He is passionate about seeing people say yes to Jesus for the first time, and encouraging people to take the next step in their walk with Christ.
Growing up in Darwin, NT, Jethro appreciates that he can swim in the ocean here and live to tell the tale. He’s often found at the beach chasing his kids around, or playing or watching sports.
Ministry Apprentice
Stephen Edney started his MTS apprenticeship in 2026 with Andy as his trainer. He is involved in many areas of our church life and wants to continue growing his ministry skills and Christian character. He wants all people to come to know the good news about Jesus.
Stephen is married to Georgia (one of the founding members of St Matts) and has moved out from the Hills to serve the people of Botany.
He likes making music, watching movies, playing board games and spending time with family and friends.
